New Ninja Turtles action figures in stores now
Since they acquired the brand years ago, Nickelodeon has been hard at work, gearing up to relaunch the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise with an all-new CG cartoon set to launch this September. While we have a few more weeks to wait until the show’s official premiere, Playmates Toys Inc. just released the first round of figurines to coincide with the franchise reboot.
Available now, these new turtle toys include the basic action figure set, larger figurines with built-in sound effects, plus a selection of vehicles to accommodate the new figurines. There’s also a new line of weapon and bandanna bundles for those interested in turtle-based larping.
I picked up the new basic Michelangelo figurine, as well as the new Kraang figurine — yes, the spelling was changed. Not only am I obsessed with the reimagined look of the turtles (and company), these figurines feature an incredible amount of detailing and mobility. They’re flexible, pose-able, and come packed with additional weapons. The basic figurines, coming in at less than 5″ tall, are around $9 each, while the larger sound-effects based figures are around $13.
You can pick yours up online, or at any Target, Toys R Us, Walmart, and other retailers now. Here’s a look at the full set on Playmate’s official site.
