iPad 2 announced, with dual cameras & improved graphics!

Written by J Valley on March 2nd, 2011. Posted in Gadgets

Apple today announced a brand new iPad, set to hit store shelves on March 11. Keeping the current price model — essentially replacing the original iPad from the marketplace — the new iPad will come in both white and black.  The iPad 2 will boast quite a few fantastic additions, while retaining the original’s 10-hour battery life.

The iPad 2 knocks 1/3 off the thickness, uses the Dual-Core A5 chip, is lighter, and is supposedly more comfortable to hold. Two new cameras have been added; a front facing camera gives the device access to two of Apple’s most notorious camera based software applications, PhotoBooth and FaceTime. The rear camera allows image and video recording in glorious 720p resolution.

Get ready tablet lovers abroad. Apple is preparing to host an event early next month that will show off the second generation iPad. The event, being held in San Francisco, was teased by Apple with the slogan, “Come see what 2011 will be the year of.” Those are some fightin’ words!

The newest version of the tablet will likely include the addition of dual camera for FaceTime and PhotoBooth, improve graphics, an improved processor, and a slew of other irresistible features that will warrant the hefty price tag.

The event makes perfect timing, considering the critical acclaim of Motorola’s Android powered Xoom tablet, which hit store shelves today. We’ll let you know what Apple has up their sleeve as soon as we find out next week.

iOS 4.3 beta confirms FaceTime, Photo Booth for iPad 2

Written by J Valley on January 20th, 2011. Posted in Gadgets

As if there were any doubt, Apple’s next iteration of the popular iPad tablet will likely include a camera, this according to a new report.

MacRumors indicates that the recent developer’s release of iOS 4.3 Beta 2 comes bundled with such popular Apple applications as FaceTime and Photo Booth. This would confirm at least a front facing camera on the iPad 2, which is likely scheduled to hit stores before April.

Camera rumors sprouted ever since the debut model released surprisingly sans camera (video or photo for that matter). Naturally, adding a camera would be an excellent feature addition for current iPad owners to want to upgrade, or newbies to hop on the tablet bandwagon.

Is the added camera enough for you to purchase an iPad 2? Well find out more in the weeks to come.
